Prerelease Party of “The Korpes File”? YES!

The time has come to pry this manuscript from my fuss-budgety death-grip and let it find its fate among the reading population. With that said, it’s still lodged in the gullet of Amazon as a draft.

A little Q & A with J. I. Rogers:

What are you waiting for?

Essentially, I’m being neurotic; I’m waiting for a cover design that doesn’t elicit groans from members of my beta-reader team. I’m waiting … Bah! I don’t like waiting. Here is a sampling of what’s appeared, image-wise, over the last four years of this project.

Keep in mind that these are all prototypes; little refinements are still required. These represent the cover’s earliest incarnation to the most recent. All of these have been vetted and received a positive response – mostly … Potentially, an outside designer could be hired to do the cover; I’m waiting to hear back.

So. What about this ‘promo party’? We’ve seen little in the way of hype. You promised!

It’s true. Sorry. Between life stuff, being sick, and external projects, I’ve had less time than I thought I would, to get my act together. Consider this post as a sign that I’m rectifying the situation.

Will you have prizes, bribes, and cake if we attend your FB function?

Do you want them? I’m sure I could figure out some form of swag to offer if that will lure you out. Bookmarks? T-Shirts? Autographed bookplates? Leave a comment if you have something else in mind.

Do you expect to release this book this year?

Yes. March of this year at the latest.

Is “The Korpes File” worth reading?

Yes. 10/12 of my beta-readers thought so, too.

What genre is it?

To define the genre … If you like softish sci-fi mixed with dystopian and space opera elements, then you may like it. At just under $3 US for the e-version, you can’t lose.

What age group is this aimed at?

Gentle readers be warned; there is adult subject matter and it’s all in context with the story. I filed it as an 18+ for those reasons; for full disclosure, read below.

This is part of a series, right?

Yes, and the good news is that books two (“The Interview”) and three (“Into The Seep”) are already written, and in the process of being revised/edited. “The Korpes File” works as a stand-alone, but it’s my hope that you’ll want to know what happens.

So. What now? When’s this party and is there a cover charge?

I’ll post the event date in the next couple of days. No cover charge …

Stay Tuned …
